Terms of Use

CodecLens is operated by Bing Li, an individual and sole proprietor trading as CodecLens. In these terms, CodecLens, we, us, and our refer to that operator.

By using the website, downloading CodecLens, requesting access, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these terms and any plan or order details presented at checkout. If you use CodecLens for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization.

You may use the CodecLens website to learn about the product, read technical articles, request beta access, download available materials, purchase eligible plans, and contact us.

You must not submit malicious content, interfere with service operation, probe for vulnerabilities without permission, circumvent license or device limits, share named-user access, use the service unlawfully, or violate the rights of others.

Developer and Pro subscriptions are offered on monthly or annual billing cycles and are billed in advance. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record, processes payment, calculates applicable taxes at checkout, and issues the transaction receipt.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the same billing cycle at the then-current price unless canceled before the renewal date. Material price changes will be communicated before they apply where required by law.

Developer is a named-user license for one person and permits activation on up to two devices. Pro is a team plan with five named-user seats and permits activation on up to two devices per seat.

A device replacement or legitimate reactivation may require deactivating an old device. Seats and device activations may not be resold, pooled, or shared outside the licensed customer organization.

You may cancel a monthly or annual subscription at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal and takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period; paid access remains available through that date and the current period is not prorated.

If a renewal payment fails, CodecLens may provide a 7-day grace period while payment recovery is attempted. When the paid period or grace period ends without successful payment, the account is downgraded to Free and paid features become unavailable. Locally stored customer files remain on the customer device and are not deleted by the downgrade.

Refund eligibility and processing are described in the CodecLens Refund Policy. An approved refund is returned by Paddle to the original payment method. Except where required by law or the Refund Policy, cancellation does not create a refund for the current billing period.

Contact CodecLens before initiating a payment dispute so we can investigate billing errors or unauthorized transactions. Fraudulent or abusive disputes may result in suspension, without limiting rights that cannot legally be excluded.

CodecLens may suspend or terminate access for fraud, abuse, unlawful activity, security risk, failed payment after the grace period, material violation of these terms, or a legal requirement. Where practical and lawful, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct a remediable issue.

On termination or expiration, the right to use paid features ends. Provisions concerning intellectual property, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability, disputes, and other terms that logically survive will remain effective.

CodecLens may provide beta access at its discretion. Beta features can change, break, be limited, or be discontinued without notice.

Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, beta access is provided for evaluation only and does not create a production service commitment.

If you submit messages, workflow descriptions, product feedback, or feature requests, you confirm that you have the right to share that information with us.

You allow CodecLens to use feedback and suggestions to improve the product without owing compensation, attribution, or other obligations, unless we separately agree in writing.

The CodecLens name, software, website design, product materials, screenshots, and original written content belong to CodecLens or its licensors unless clearly stated otherwise.

You may link to public CodecLens pages and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, reverse engineer, circumvent technical restrictions, or imply endorsement by CodecLens except where applicable law does not permit that restriction.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website, software, downloads, beta materials, and services are provided as is and as available. CodecLens does not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or fit-for-purpose operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodecLens is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the website, software, beta materials, or reliance on website content.

If you enter into a separate signed Enterprise order or other agreement with CodecLens, that agreement controls where it conflicts with these terms.

We may update these terms as the website, product, billing model, and beta program evolve. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
